Mark Burnett
Mark Burnett (born 17 July 1960) is a television producer based in Los Angeles and is currently the CEO of United Artists Media Group, a subsidiary of MGM Holdings. Burnett is currently the executive producer of eleven network television series. He has produced over 2,900 hours of television which regularly airs in over 70 countries and has received 112 Emmy nominations throughout his career. His current unscripted series are Survivor, The Apprentice, The Voice, The Sing Off, Shark Tank, Beyond the Tank, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, 500 Questions and the People's Choice Awards. In addition to these network shows, Burnett also produces cable series: On the Menu, Women of the Bible, Lucha Underground, and Divine Intervention (working title). In 2013, TV Guide Magazine named Burnett "Producer of the Year." Also, Burnett was named one of the world's most influential people by TIME Magazine. He has won six Emmy Awards, one PGA Award and five People's Choice Awards as of November 2013, and his projects have garnered a total of 112 Emmy nominations. In 2014, The Hollywood Reporter named Burnett number one on the Top 50 Reality Players of 2014 In 2013 Burnett produced The Bible series that brought in around 100 million viewers, which ended up being the most-watched cable miniseries of the year. In 2014 Burnett went on to produce the feature film Son of God and is now producing another, Ben-Hur, alongside MGM for a 2016 release. In addition to his work as a producer, he has authored eight books.[citation needed] In 2014, Mark and his wife Roma Downey were recipients of the Anti-Defamation League’s Entertainment Industry Award. Mark has also been nominated for the 2014 TCA Career Achievement Award. Burnett's shows Shark Tank, Survivor and The Voice have all been nominated for a 2014 TCA Award in the Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming category and for a 2014 Critic's Choice Television Award in the Best Reality Series- Competition category, with Shark Tank taking the win. Mark Burnett has been nominated for three 2014 Emmy awards; Outstanding Structured Reality Program - Shark Tank, Outstanding Interactive Program - The Voice and Outstanding Reality-Competition Program - The Voice. Burnett has worked with Jeffrey Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise, Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Phil, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Shakira, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green, Martha Stewart, Sarah Palin, Jeff Foxworthy, Samuel L.
