Perry Chen
Perry Chen is a New York City-based artist best known for being the creator of the funding platform Kickstarter. In 2010, Chen was selected as a TED Fellow, and in 2014, he was a resident of Laboratorio para la Ciudad in Mexico City and also exhibited in the New Museum's First Look online exhibition program with the project Computers in Crisis. In 2001, he co-founded the Southfirst gallery in Brooklyn, New York. Chen was listed by Fast Company as 74th in the ranking of "the most creative people in business" in 2010. Along with fellow co-founders, he was named as one of the "The 12 Most Disruptive Names In Business" by Forbes. In the same year, he was honored on the annual list of Time's 100 most influential people. He is an alumnus of Hunter College High School in New York City.
